Lawrence Anthony “Larry” Reynolds, of Mexia, died on Jan. 5, 2021. He was born May 17, 1950, in Michigan, but moved to Texas at a young age and always called himself a “Texas Boy.” He never met a stranger and especially loved family gatherings.
Johnnie Ruth Holmes, née Lewis, went to her eternal home on Jan. 3, 2021, in Waco, at the age of 90. Private funeral services were held at Sardis Baptist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 6, with the Rev. Jerry Fulton officiating. Interment was in the Sardis Cemetery. Her grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers.
Patsy “Pat” C. Pittman, 91, long-time resident of Mexia, traded her earthly body for a heavenly one on Jan. 2, 2021, in Nacogdoches. Funeral services were to be held at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, Jan. 5, with the Rev. Marcus Sheffield and the Rev. Christopher Hurst officiating. Visitation was to be at 1:30 p.m., and services were to begin at 2 p.m., and interment was to follow the services in the Mexia Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were to be Duke Pittman, Robert P. Hurst, Christopher Hurst, Timothy Lowe, Bobby Forrest, Benjie Reed and Bobby Lide. Honorary pallbearers were to include Dr. John McCall, Dr. Norman Hinkle, Terry Reed, Dr. Mike Pickering, and Dr. Glenn Ellisor.
Richard Bond Kerzee, former Mexia businessman, passed away at his home on Jan. 1, 2021, at the age of 84. Graveside services were held Sunday, Jan. 3, in the Point Enterprise Cemetery, with the Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Brett Beene, Chet Beene, Johnny Ingram, Neil Dancer, James Pullin and Richard Kerzee served as pallbearers.
