Altha Hancock crossed over to her eternal home with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Monday, Aug. 29, at

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at First United Methodist Church in Coolidge, with visitation preceding at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at the Coolidge Cemetery.

Altha was an LVN, having received her training at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. She worked for several years at the Wortham Hospital and Mexia Hospital. Later she worked as the school nurse for Coolidge. After her retirement she opened her home for childcare. She was known as “Meemee” by many in Coolidge.

Altha was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, aunts and uncles, and her brother Connie McClinton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Altha is survived by her loving husband, Mack Hancock of Coolidge; her brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Beverly Mc-Clinton of Nashville, TN; her brother, Johnnie Mc-Clinton of Coolidge; and sister and brother-in-law, Don and Narciada Shipley of Pinesville, LA. She is also survived by her sons, Benjamin and Melinda Hancock of Eureka, and Jimmy and Marie Hancock of China Spring. Also surviving Altha are her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.
