Frances Daniell
Our hearts are heavy that Frances Daniell, our beloved and sweet mother and grandmother, died on April 21, 2024, after a short illness. She was 85 years old.
Frances was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Mexia, where she was a lifelong resident. She retired from the Mexia State School, where she was a program tech.
Frances, or “Fran,” was the heart of our family. She raised four children to be independent and thoughtful adults. She was married 39 years to Oran Ray “Catfish” Daniell, who preceded her in death. Our mother was a fun, loving Nanna to her grandchildren and their friends and her great-grandchildren. She loved her sweet puppies, Baby and Mollie, which also preceded her in death.
Frances was a strong, very caring person. We loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. We will cherish the memories and the love you gave us forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oran R. Daniell; parents, Joe and Clara Farris; son, Joe Daniell; daughter, Shari Rusnak; grandson, Tyler Archibald; as well as six siblings, Joe Farris Jr, Buster Farris, Cecil Farris, Gene Farris, Elvin Farris and Ruth Farris Raymond.
Left behind to cherish those memories are her children, Christie Archibald, and Robbie Akers and husband Charlie; grandchildren, Chadwick Archibald and wife Deborah, Kasey Brewer and husband David, Jason Archibald and wife Heather, Matthew Rusnak, Brittany Stevens, and Cinnamon Archibald Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Jake, Garrett, Julia, Ethan, Austin, Blake, Halle, Silas, Stormy, McKenzie, Kristin, Preston, Ally, Avery, Alanis and Arlo; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at 1:30 p.m. at Mexia Cemetery. Ms. Daniell will be lie in state at Jones Funeral Services on Wednesday afternoon, from noon to 6:30 p.m., for friends and relatives to come by and pay their respects.
Her grandchildren are serving as honorary pallbearers.
