Two arrested in shooting
Mexia Police Department officers arrested two men Friday afternoon, Oct. 21, suspected of involvement in a shooting in the 300 block of West Fannin in Mexia, according to a press release issued by MPD.
MPD was dispatched about 2:20 p.m. Friday in reference to gunshots.
As of early Friday evening, law enforcement had not received any reports of injuries sustained by anyone involved in this incident.
Officers arrested Skylar Wood, 18, of Mexia, and Jordan West, 18, of Mexia. They are charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, both second-degree felonies. They are also charged with Evading Arrest-Detention, a Class A misdemeanor.
