Terrie Annette (Barker) Dailey
Terrie Annette (Barker) Dailey, 56, of Austin, passed away unexpectedly Sept. 15, 2022. Terrie was born on April 2, 1966, to Ann Barker and was blessed with two fathers Johnny Barber and Louie Barker. She graduated as Class President from the Mexia High School, Class of 1984 and then from University of Texas at Austin’s Mc-Combs Business School.
Terrie enjoyed her career with Marsh and McLennan Agency as a Benefits Broker. She believed in working hard to be able to play harder. Overachiever should have been her middle name! Her love for spending time with friends and family helped her stay driven, work hard and never take “no” for an answer. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, eating Tex-Mex and having a good drink. Terrie’s greatest joy was the love she found in mothering. In fact, aspiring to be a mother was always her greatest dream. Terrie and husband, Jimmy, were inseparable. They laughed and loved every day together. She will always be his “shining star” and his little girl.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Marguerite and Bill Charles; father, Louie Barker; and brother, Lee Barker. Terrie is also survived by a precious family: husband, Jimmy Dailey; daughters, Macy Bayless and Mistica Bayless; mother, Ann Barker; father, Johnny Barber; and stepmother, Gwen Barker. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Axton and Oakleigh Litz; brothers, Johnny Ray Barker and wife Sandra, and Leven Barker and wife Devin; stepsister, Tambra Lozano and husband Junior; stepbrother, s David Kennedy, Mike Maynard and Mark Maynard; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she spoiled and loved like her own. There was a celebration of Terrie’s life on Sunday, Sept. 18, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert McDougal officiating. Visitation with the family was prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment followed in Forest Glade Cemetery. Jake Barker, Josh Barker, Jesse Barker, Trever Barker, Kevin Morton and Shane Threat served as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, Terrie’s family ask that you please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
