Elsie Marie Davis
Elsie Marie Davis, 93, of Mexia, passed away on Sept. 1, 2022, at Mexia LTC. Graveside services were held at noon Sept. 5 at Mexia Cemetery. No visitation was held.
Davis was born on Aug. 8, 192,9 in Teague to L.A. and Nannie Plummer Davis. She met the love of her life, Wade, on a blind date 65-plus years ago and they married Nov. 27, 1956, at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. Wade was her whole heart and took very good care of her. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker and a seamstress. She also made and collected dolls. Elsie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wade; parents, L.A. and Nannie Davis; sister, Dorothy Dale; and niece, Sarah Markey.
Survivors include her niece, Carolyn Hathaway of Silsbee; sister-in-law, Terra Davis of Fred; nieces, Patricia Faltesek of Dickinson and Aline Graham of Lumberton; nephews, Bobby Joe Davis of Warren and Wade Alan Davis of Silsbee; sister-in-law, Thelma Pope of Teague; special friends, Nancy and Bill Davis of Nacogdoches; as well as her beloved and faithful dog, B.J.
