The Navasota River is expected to crest this morning at 12 feet, 2 inches, which is moderate flood stage. Current trajectory will have it rise above that forecast. Lake Mexia is currently at 453.93, above normal pool of 448.3.”
Water is slowly receding. Crested at 454.23 at 3 a.m.
Drive with extreme caution in low-lying areas, especially near Lake Mexia and in that watershed.
The Navasota below Groesbeck at 5:15 a.m. was at 12’12,” still rising but more slowly; above moderate flood stage. Crest over 12’ expected this morning. Exercise caution driving in low-lying areas as waters downstream will start to rise.
