Mexia to host free COVID-19 testing Wednesday

Mexia-area residents will have a chance to get tested for the COVID-19 virus at no charge on Wednesday, May 6, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 206 E. Main.
The Texas National Guard will conduct drive-through testing at the old drive-through bank across from City Hall.
Those who wish to take advantage of this offer must register first by either calling 512-883-2400 or by registering online at TXCOVIDTEST.org.
Callers or online visitors will be screened for the following symptoms: fever and/or chills; cough, either dry or productive; fatigue; body aches, muscle or joint pain; shortness of breath; sore throat; headaches; nausea, vomiting or diarrhea; nasal congestion; and loss of taste and/or smell.
Tests are conducted by appointment only. Registration opens 24 hours prior to scheduled testing date.
