FRANK JAY CLAYTON
Frank Jay Clayton passed away peacefully Dec. 10, 2018, after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family at St. Catherine’s Hospice in Waco.
Frank was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Rosebud. He lived most of his life in the Waco and Mexia areas. He lived life on his own terms. He loved his family and friends and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed a good meal and loved to cook and serve what he had caught. He always made sure there was plenty so you could come back for seconds. He was a brick mason and worked as a driller and company man in the Texas oilfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Clayton and Geneva Spradlin Clayton, and beloved grandson, Landon Rusnak.
He is survived by his wife, Gaynell Clayton of Lake Mexia; sisters, Joan Baker of Waco and Patsy Clayton of DeSoto; sons, Clint (Kiri) Howard of Temple, John (Betty) Rusnak and Michael Rusnak of Mexia, David (Janet) Rusnak of Waco and Joseph Rusnak of Dallas; grandchildren, John (Atoya) Rusnak of Rhome, Sarah (Jimmy) Harrison of Decatur, Matthew (Trista) Rusnak of Lott, Cady Rusnak of Waco and Wyatt Howard of Temple; three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Frank Jay Clayton will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Corley-Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia.
