One thing we feel right now is the dropping of the temperatures, and it is so nice. One thing we see right now is the rising of gas prices, and that is so uncomfortable. And there just isn’t a whole lot being done to address the issue at the moment.

Nearly 100 people, including family, friends and former players and colleagues were at the Mexia High School auditorium Saturday for a memorial service to pay tribute to former Mexia football coach Norman Cobb, who passed away Oct. 14 in Austin at the age of 83.
Jonathan Hardin Chapter-Daughters of the American Revolution met in the conference room of the Gibbs Memorial Library in Mexia on Wednesday, Oct. 13. The meeting was called to order by Treasurer Diane Pullin, who stepped in for Madam Regent Nancy McSwane. The invocation was given by Pat Wiggens, who stepped in for Chaplain Marsha Black. The DAR ritual was led by Diane Pullin, followed by the pledge to the American and Texas flags, led by Beth Harrison and Beverly Jones, followed by the President General’s message read by Diane Pullin.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Friday authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer-BioN- Tech COVID-19 vaccine on children ages 5-11, marking a long-awaited milestone in the nearly two-year fight against the deadly virus that experts say has likely already infected nearly half the population in that age group.
