The starting time temperature in Mexia was around 80 degrees; and by noon, the temperature had climbed to 93 before peaking at 100 between 5 and 6 p.m.
More than 100 contestants won a total of more than $85,000 at the 92nd Annual Mexia Rodeo put on by the Mexia Area Chamber of Commerce last week, according to numbers posted on the United Professional Rodeo Association (UPRA) web site Tuesday.
