(StatePoint) It can be tempting to think that bugs simply disappear in the cooler months. The truth is that many bug species have evolved to survive all year long, sometimes hiding in the warm nooks and crannies in and around homes. Others go into a hibernation- like state.

The Comfort Inn of Mexia was awarded the Civic Pride Award by the Mexia Garden Club for the months of April and May. Manager Martha Anderson and Gloria Gonzales joined club president Patty Manley for the presentation of the award. Lovely Sunny Knockout Roses and Double Pink Knockouts are among the other knockouts in the garden. The Sunny Knockouts are a fragrant member of Knockouts. The yellow color stays more intense during cooler times of the year. The dark semi-glossy foliage contrast nicely with the bright blooms. The Double Pink Knockout Rose had a spicy fragrance. It is highly resistant to black spot and mildew leaf disease. It is an excellent low hedge or accent.
Mexia Lions Club President Michael Jones, center, congratulates the Club’s sweetheart and beau for March: Jaleah Davis and Cris Obregon. After graduation, both plan to attend the University of Texas-Arlington, Jaleah to study nursing and Cris to study mechanical engineering.
This week at Mexia LTC we started off having Bible study with Irma Carranza on Monday morning. Residents played bingo on Monday afternoon. Residents enjoyed their Bible group with Bob Kersten on Tuesday morning. Residents took beautiful Easter pictures with McKenna from Solaris Hospice that morning also. Residents stuffed Easter eggs that afternoon.
