Those who have been in downtown Mexia recently have probably noticed the freshly painted parking stripes, just one of several recent improvements courtesy of Mexia’s new Economic Development Corporation director. Jeff Looney spoke recently to the Rotary Club of Mexia and also the Mexia Lions Club on this and other new developments in Mexia since he became EDC director in October 2022.
Excitement continues to build in anticipation of the opening of Texas’ newest recreational reservoir, Bois d’Arc Lake. Just don’t get your hopes up too high about getting the green light to go fishing or boating on the 16,650-acre reservoir in Fannin County anytime soon.
