Demolition on site of new truck stop to resume

The eyesore at the northwest corner of US Highway 84 and TX Highway 14 that resulted from demolition work halting due to an asbestos permit snafu should be cleaned up soon — possibly this week, according to Bruce Glover, building inspector for the City of Mexia.
School museum, alumni will present awards this weekend

Mexia Public School Museum and Alumni Association will present awards to the Class of 1973 distinguished alumni and Coming Home Queen before the Friday, Sept. 26, homecoming football game, All alumni need to be at the football game about 6:30 p.m. to ensure they can find a place on the field for the awards ceremony.
