As Texas businesses slowly reopen their doors amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is reminding families and businesses that they can save on the purchase of certain water- and energy-efficient products during the state’s Water-Efficient Products and ENERGY STAR® sales tax holidays.
Thanks to the Area Agency on Aging, 133 senior-age Limestone County residents will get $100 of food for their pantry.

le The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission shut down the VFW in Mexia on May 8, even though the post was not selling alcohol. Fortunately, it will be able to re-open Friday, May 22, with the announcement from Gov. Greg Abbott allowing bars to reopen then.
Texas has had many colorful characters in its long history, but none have so fired the imagination and grabbed the attention of common people as these two young outlaws – Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker. My first recollection of hearing about the daring exploits of the couple from Dallas was listening to my father and various uncles as they recounted the murders, robberies, and kidnapping reported in the newspapers. One uncle worked with Clyde when both young men were employed at Procter and Gamble, the giant soap maker in Dallas.
