The Mexia Blackcats have entered the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) poll at No. 25 this week. The Blackcats have one regular-season game left Tuesday night at home against Rusk.
The Mexia football team will be in a smaller district, but will spend more time on the road over the next two years, according to the UIL district realignment which was announced this morning.
Mexia High School was on lockdown Thursday afternoon after receiving a threat that was phoned in from out of state.
The Mexia boys and girls basketball teams both defeated Madisonville at the Mexia High School gym on Tuesday night.
