MISD board forming committee to address legislative matters

The monthly Mexia Independent School District School Board meeting was held on Monday, Nov. 13, at the Administration Building. Superintendent Ryder Appleton initiated the session with a report, expressing pride in the collaborative efforts across campuses for the Veterans Day program. He highlighted the educational initiatives undertaken to emphasize the day’s significance to students of all ages.

Yard of the Month

The Mexia Garden Club Yard of the Month is the home of Patsy Sunday on Oakwood Street. Roses, holly and boxwoods are the backdrop for pots of pansies, asparagus fern and calibrachoa surrounded by sweet potato vine in the front flower beds. There is a paved seating area and walkway in the back yard with pots of flowers.

The Mexia Garden Club presents Sassy Sisters the Civil Pride Award for the months of November/December. The store has some amazing decorations featuring a witch on the door along with other seasonal displays. It is businesses like Sassy Sisters that keep our downtown looking great! Pictured are owner Brittney Wood, Kristen Diaz and Garden Club representative Patty Manley. Owner, Tara Summers was unavailable to be pictured.
