Two Mexia Community Sports Pee Wee Football teams will play in the second round of the postseason when the Heart of Texas Pee Wee League playoffs come to Mexia on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Four area football teams are preparing for bi-district playoff games this week. Two are setting their sights on basketball and the offseason.
Mexia Community Sports will host an Adult Basketball League for men and women (all play together). Participants must be out of high school to participate.
There are times when football takes a backseat to life off the field.
The Coolidge football team’s hope of making a run in the playoffs tumbled to the ground like the long passes they could not connect on in the final seconds of a 50-48 loss at Penelope in their final regular-season game Friday, Nov. 3.
