The Mexia football team returns home this week to go against Fairfield in the Blackcats’ second District 8-4A, Division II, game and the second game on the newly installed turf at Blackcat Field.
The Mexia volleyball juggernaut continued to roll along Friday with a three-game sweep of Palestine at the Mexia High School gym.
The Wortham volleyball team continued its winning ways in District 19-2A.
Coming off its bye week and on the heels of a victory in the annual Homecoming game, the Wortham football team begins District 11-2A, Division II play Friday night at Frost.
As the high school football season reaches its halfway point, the Mexia Blackcats have a 2-3 record, including a loss in their first District 8-4A, Division II, game.
