The Mexia boys’ soccer team broke open a close match with two goals within 40 seconds of each other in the second half and coasted to a 5-0 victory over Crockett in a District 18-4A match at Blackcat Stadium on Tuesday.

Blackcats’ season ends in area OT loss to La Vega

In a struggle between two similar, evenly matched teams, the Mexia Blackcats’ season came to an end Friday night with a gut-wrenching 59-57 overtime loss to Waco La Vega in a Class 4A area round playoff game at Lorena High School.
