Mexia took a few punches early, but the Blackcats’ defense and athleticism proved to be the knockout blow in a 71-51 victory over Center in a Class 4A bi-district playoff game at Tyler Junior College on Tuesday night.
The Mexia baseball season started with a bang on Monday night.
The Mexia Blackcats (22-5) will go against a mirror image when they battle Waco La Vega (12-5) in a Class 4A area round basketball playoff game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lorena High School.
