The Coolidge boys basketball team got off to a slow start against Avalon and couldn’t get back into the game to absorb a 58-31 loss to the Eagles in a District 26-1A game at Coolidge on Friday.
With nearly his entire team returning, Mexia boys soccer coach T.J. Sadler is expecting big things from a squad that finished third in the district last year.
The Mexia girls basketball team lost its District 18-4A opener, 39-26, at Madisonville on Friday night.
Andreya Reyna has played all over the field for the Mexia girls soccer team the past three years since the team was formed.
