The Mexia Community Sports Pee Wee Football and Cheer program has five teams in this year’s playoffs. Games will be played on the Wortham High football field this Saturday.
This Friday night, Nov. 1, the Mexia Blackcats football team will be squaring off against the Maypearl Panthers at Homecoming. Both clubs are 2-1 in district play.
The Wortham Bulldogs football team improved to 3-2 in district play following Friday’s 44-36 triumph in Goldthwaite.
The Mexia Ladycats volleyball club suffered a 3-0 defeat (15-25, 7-25, 7-25). on the road Tuesday night, Oct. 22, at Westwood Ja’Calinn Richardson and Haylee Fitch recorded three kills apiece to lead Mexia offensively. Fitch had a team-high four assists, and Abbie Johnson led the club defensively with 14 digs in defeat.
