Every town has its heroes, pillars of the community who make up the heart and soul of the city. Mexia has lost one of its pillars with the death of Stephana High-Mitchell on Thursday night.
Banker G. Drew Allbright, of Carrollton, was recently recognized by The Texas Bankers Association for completing 50 years in the banking industry, but he has not forgotten Mexia, the city where he was born and raised.
This is the 16th article in a series of how pastors and churches locally and nationally are doing creative things to keep churches and communities connected during this time of social distancing.
I did a double take when I read the article in the July 18 issue of The Mexia News that “Schools should look at COVID like the annual flu outbreaks,” so I decided to look up the statistics – no quotes from poets, just data, in response to his statements.
