Tommy Marcus ‘Marc’ Roberson
Tommy Marcus “Marc” Roberson went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, surrounded by his dear wife and children.
Marc was born in Mexia on April 19, 1958, to Tommy Roberson and Lois Wakefield Roberson where he lived all his life. He was proud to be a Blackcat.
On Aug. 3, 1985, Marc was united in marriage to Clara Lowry in McKinney. They recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary.
Marc began working as a teenager, volunteering for the Mexia Fire Department and working at the Mexia Daily News. He was later employed as a firefighter and EMT at Mexia Fire Department. He was a commercial truck driver for K-Mart, Sherwin-Williams, Basic Energy, and various local companies.
Woodworking was one of Marc’s favorite hobbies. He enjoyed making outdoor furniture and toy boxes for his grandchildren and friends. Marc also had a love for chasing storms. He was always ready to play Farkle and Chickenfoot. According to Marc, he always won however his family has a different story.
Marc is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Elmer and Lucille Cox; father, Tommy Roberson; and brother, Brent Roberson.
Marc leaves behind his loving wife Clara as well as his four children: Mikki Riffenburg and husband Bobby of Fairfield; Amanda Howard of Mexia; Christina Stout and husband Lucas of Arlington; and John Marc Roberson of Denver.
He is also survived by his mother, Lois Armenta, of Temple; sister- and brother- in-law, Freda and Dan Kendall of Allen; and sisterin- law, Cathi Coon of Temple. Marc was blessed to be “Pops” to five grandchildren: Madison Akers, Jackson Howard, Charlee Riffenburg, Finley Stout and Bowen Stout.
Visitation was held at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia on Sunday, Aug, 11 from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Mexia on Monday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Mexia Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Marc Roberson, Lucas Stout, Bobby Riffenburg, Jackson Howard, Steven Gore and Dan Kendall.
