SYBIL HENDERSON

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Sybil Annette (Bolton) Henderson, age 79, of Groesbeck, passed away Friday morning, July 30, 2021, at Providence Hospice in Waco, surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born on Nov. 14, 1941, in Mississippi, she is the daughter of the late Henry F. and Annie Lou Bolton of Groesbeck.

Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Henderson; her parents, Henry and Annie Lou Bolton; two brothers, Jack and Bobby Bolton; and son in-law, Mike Danz.

She was very devoted to her family. When she was little, her mother, Annie Lou, helped raise her cousins, Winford Collins and Josephine Hawes, which made all three of them very close, and always there for each other. Years later, after marrying her first husband, Sybil gave birth to a daughter, Vikki (Pollock) Danz and a son, David Pollock.

Sybil started working at a very young age at the Old Cotton Mill in Mexia. Later, she went to work at the Mexia State School and, while working there, she got her bachelor’s degree from Navarro College. She retired from the Mexia State School after many years of service.

Granny had a great love for the outdoors and always loved going fishing and camping with the family. She loved all her animals, but her pride and joy were her rottweiler, Jasmine, and her big tom cat, Booger. She also had a love for arts and crafts and crocheting, until her hands would no longer allow her do that,

Sybil is survived by her two children, Vikki Danz and David Pollock; grandchildren, Michael Danz and wife Christina Ray of Groesbeck, Sheri Horn and husband Jayson Horn, Jessica Pollock and fiancé, Michael Matchett of Manor, Russell Pollock and significant other, Mandy Nobles of Groesbeck, and Clinton James Pollock (aka CJ); great-grandchildren, Dean Lundh and significant other Destiny Ficklin of Groesbeck, Shelby Lundh from Groesbeck, and Nove, Elena, Madilynn, and Hayley Pollock of Groesbeck, Matthew Clingenpeel, Jalana Clingenpeel, and Jalee Peterman of Manor. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were to be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home, with Brother David McDaniels officiating. Interment was to follow in the Old Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joey Owens, Dean Lundh, Jayson Horn, Russell Pollock, CJ Pollock and Cody Bruner. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Danz, Winford Collins and Jason Owens.

Visitation was to be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.
