Shirley Dale (Hinchliffe) Roberts Winton
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Dale (Hinchliffe) Roberts Winton, who peacefully passed on Jan. 31, 2025.
Born on June 15, 1940, in Mexia, where she spent her childhood, Shirley lived a life filled with love, kindness and unwavering faith. She was the beloved spouse of Carl Dennis Winton, a devoted mother to daughter Shari (Roberts) Thorn and son Daryl Roberts, and a cherished grandmother to her adored grandchildren Kolten Roberts (Randi), Skyler Thorn (Hannah), and Savannah Thorn, and great-grandchildren Barrett Roberts, Raylinn Roberts, and Kai Chun, who brought immense joy to her life.
Shirley and her family lived in Angleton for more than 40 years. She dedicated more than 30 years of service as a polyethylene shipping coordinator at Dow Chemical, Plant B, where she was respected for her hard work and enjoyed lasting friendships with her coworkers.
Following her retirement, Shirley and Carl moved to Burnet, where she found great fulfillment as an active and faithful member of the Vanderveer Street Church of Christ. Faith was the foundation of her life.
Shirley will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her kindness and wisdom touched the lives of many, and her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Hinchliffe and Bertha (Carter) Hinchliffe; sister, Dorothy (Hinchliffe) Shelton; brother, Bobby Hinchliffe; and husband, Billy Roberts.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Vanderveer Street Church of Christ in Burnet on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in her honor.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
