SAN JUANA AIDE LIRA
San Juana Aide Lira passed away in Mexia on Aug. 20, 2020, at the age of 52. She was born Nov. 2, 1967, in Venecia, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Arturo H. and Maria Elena Cantu Chavez. San Juana married Gerardo Lira on Aug. 7, 1993, in Sullivan City, and they were blessed with one daughter, Yesenia. After moving to Mexia, San Juana became an employee of the Mexia ISD. San Juana had been a teacher’s aide at Mexia High School for almost 20 years.
San Juana was a very loving, caring person to everyone. Although she had only one child of her own, throughout her many years at Mexia High School, she developed a special relationship with many others. San Juana’s family was her pride and joy; she loved them with all her heart. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Gerardo, and in addition to her deep love for Yesenia, she was the light of her life.
San Juana enjoyed a variety of things; she like to crochet, draw, sew, read fan fiction, watch dramas and loved going to McDonalds. She also had a great memory; she remembered everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries. San Juana will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arturo and Maria Elena Chavez.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gerardo Lira, of Mexia; daughter Yesenia, of Mexia; siblings Manuel Angel Chavez, Josefina Banda, Hugo Chavez, Arturo Chavez Jr., Omar Chavez, Maria Teresa Flores, Adriana Sifuentes and Alejandro Chavez; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
