Remington Scott Masters

Remington Scott Masters, of Thornton, passed away at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston on Friday, June 7, 2019, at age 17.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Groesbeck Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, in the Groesbeck High School Auditorium, 1202 N. Ellis St., Groesbeck. Pastors Randy Ayres and Tracy Sims will officiate, with music by Stacy Duffield and David Neal. Burial will follow at Cobb Cemetery.

Remington was born Dec. 28, 2001, to Mason Keith Masters and Jennifer Elaine Winstead Masters. He was a junior at Groesbeck High School, a varsity football player, avid fisherman and hunter, who loved to hog hunt, and drive fast.    

Remington was preceded in death by his great-grandparents:  Don and Grace Wilkins, Wesley and Louise Winstead, Fred and Betty Masters, James E. “Shorty” Robison, and his uncle, Blake McIntire.

He is survived by his dad and step-mom, Keith and Mandi Masters of Thornton; mom and step-dad, Isaac and Jennifer Fife of Thornton; brother and sister-in-law, McKenzie and Harlie Masters of Groesbeck; sister, Raylee Masters of Thornton; brothers, Luke Fife and Wade Fife of Thornton; grandparents, Mason and Debra Masters of Mexia, Randy and Kathy O’Bryant of Groesbeck, Donna and Rickey Tapley of Mexia, Robert and Denise Winstead of Groesbeck, and Jimmy and Dianne Fife Montgomery; and great-grandmother, Melita Robison of Thornton.
