MARGUERITE HENSLEY SPILLERS
Marguerite Hensley Spillers, born June 24, 1926, in Mexia, to Lee Wilmer and Ada Ola (King) Hensley, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 ,in Flint, at the age of 95. Marguerite was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister. Marguerite’s life was full of some of her most favorite activities such as spending time with her family, fishing, hunting, china/porcelain doll-making, china painting, jewelry making and quilting. She won many ribbons and accolades at the East Texas State Fair (Tyler) over the last 30 or so years for many of her dolls and china paintings.
Her active church membership was with Rosedale Baptist Church of Tyler.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Wilmer and Ada Ola (King) Hensley; brother, Ruffus Wayne Hensley; sister, Mary Louise (Hensley) Garber; and grandson, Wilmer Ray Creecy; great-granddaughter, Natalie Danielle Bannister; and great-grandson, Nicholas Caleb Terry.
Marguerite is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ronnie Pat Spillers; sons, Joe Lewis Creecy Jr., Wilmer Creecy and his wife Debra, Stephen Spillers, Russell Spillers and his wife Lisa, Sheldon “Mickey” Spillers and his wife Suzanne,; daughters, Sheryl “Sheri” Czajkowski and her husband Richard, Stephanie “Kay” Stevens, Susan “Patty” Dudley and her husband Dale.
She was blessed with 23 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren with the 21st great-great grandchild due in November; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held to celebrate her life at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler. Visitation was scheduled for one hour prior to the service. Burial followed in Noonday Cemetery, Noonday.
Serving as pallbearers were Marguerite’s grandsons, Ronnie Walton, Richard “Ricky” Walton, Jeff “Jake” Creecy, Patrick Spillers, Chris Dudley, Shaun Dudley, Stanley Spillers and Zachary Spillers.
