Larry Earl Myers
Larry Earl Myers, 87, of Mexia, passed away June 9, 2019. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Mexia City Cemetery, with the Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Corley-Porter Funeral Home.
Larry was born Jan. 7, 1932, in Mexia, to L.E. “Jack” and Velma Onstott Myers. He graduated from Mexia High School in 1951. Larry married LaNelle Fountain Myers in 1956 and they were together for 51 years until her death in 2008. After the death of LaNelle, he married Linda Sandifer Myers and they shared nine years together until his death. Larry always said he was blessed to have had two wonderful women in his life.
Larry worked in the public all of his life and had great work ethics. He believed that if you work hard, be honest and always be on time that you will be a success in life. He was an excellent provider for his wives and his family, always giving his all to provide them with the best. He loved to travel and did that a lot in his younger years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Velma Onstott Myers; wife LaNelle Fountain Myers; and son, Layne Myers.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda Sandifer Myers; daughter, Lea Hedrick and husband Tim of Teague; son, Lex Myers and wife Debra of College Station; stepson, Ronald Dockery of Mexia; grandchildren, Nathan Myers, Daniel Myers, Philip Myers, Ethan Myers, Erica Mitchell, Ross Mathison, Ryan Mathison, Reagan Mathison, Paul Hedrick and Megan Pritchard; and numerous great-grandchildren.
