KIMBERLY KAY GAMEZ
Kimberly Kay Gamez, of Harker Heights, passed away May 22, 2020, in Temple, at the age of 49. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home, with Pastor Dante Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery (Leon County). Armando Gamez, Jonathan Gamez, Dante Davis, Daniel Burkeen, Jerry Burkeen and Devin Drake will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m. at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.
Kimberly was born July 1, 1970, in Teague, to Lee Weldon and Wanda Joy Cook Burkeen. She was a surveyor for moving and storage businesses. Although she worked outside the home, Kimberly’s first and most important responsibility was taking care of her family; they were the light of her life. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Kimberly was very outgoing, as well as outspoken. She was a strong woman, very kind and always found something good in every person. She was also a Dallas Cowboys fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Wanda Burkeen.
Kimberly is survived by her loving husband, Richard A. Burton; children Keisha Davis and husband, Dante, of N.J., Jonathan Gamez and wife Cheryl, of Copperas Cove, Kristina Gamez, of Killeen, Armando Gamez, Jr., of Waco, Amanda Moore, of Arlington, and Katrina Gamez, of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren Levante, Malaki, Dante Jr., Serenity, Destiny, Alona, Alexandria, Tatiana, Amiya, Liliana, Josiah, Michael, Alyce, Devin Jr. and Kennedy; sister Debra McDonald, of Teague; brothers Daniel Lee Burkeen and wife Penny, of Mexia and Jerry Burkeen and wife Wanda, of Arlington; and a number nieces and nephews.
