Johnnie E. King Harman
Johnnie King Harman, age 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 4, 2020. She was born on May 21, 1923, in Wortham, to Lillian Carter Rogers and Jack Rogers.
Johnnie graduated college in 1958 as an LVN. She was a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 10 years before returning back to her hometown of Wortham, where she worked at Wortham Rehab and Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Carter Rogers and Jack Rogers; sisters Wenonna Abbott and Flovelle Driver; brother John Albert Rogers; and husbands James M. King and Jim Harman.
She is survived by her daughter, Anneshia Turner, of Porter; three grandchildren,
James Turner, of Porter, Cheree Hambleton, of Hockley, and Chanda King, of Spring; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. at Corley-Porter Chapel-Wortham, with Jack McKinnie officiating. Interment will be at Wortham Cemetery.
