JERRY LYNN WATSON SR.

Jerry Lynn Watson Sr., 69, of Leakey, and formerly of Mexia, passed away on Aug. 6, 2020. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia. Interment will be at Lost Prairie Cemetery in Limestone County. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home.

Jerry was born on Sept. 1, 1950, in Mexia, to Joe Murdock and Naomi Dossey Watson. He was preceded in death by his parents; son John Davis Watson and brother James “Tub” Watson. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kathy Watson, of Leakey; daughters Monica Marler and husband Jason, of College Station, and Christi Salas and husband Bono, of Iowa Colony; son Bubba Watson and wife Stephanie, of Rio Frio; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Wayne Watson; sister Frances Kyle; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bubba Watson, James Watson, Brian Kyle, Kade Watson, Delbert Kyle Jr. and Bono Salas.
