Jason Don ‘Jig’ Fox
Jason Don “Jig” Fox, of Thornton, passed away at Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck, on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at age 50.
Visitation will be Friday, April 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Groesbeck Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, at the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Thornton (Hwy. 14). Burial will follow in the Thornton City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Fox, Kaleb Fox, Phillip LeJeune, Dominion Dick, John Dick and Johnathon Dick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Zoie Don Dick, Katelynn Furstenberg, Rubymaye Beckham, Brianna Dick, Jessica Arthur, Dalton Dick, Clayton Dick, Ethan Palomin and Dalton Wilkerson.
Jason was born Feb. 20, 1973, in Houston to Jerry Fox and Diana Gail (McIntyre) Fox and he currently lived in Thornton. He was a devout father, husband, uncle, son and brother. His passions included spending time with his family and children. He enjoyed cooking out, playing washers, telling jokes and ultimately laughing.
Jason was a mechanic for most of his life. He worked for Limestone County Road and Bridge Department, where he retired early. He went into the oil field industry briefly and he then became a self-employed contractor to be with his family full time.
Jason was the full-time caretaker of the family business, Grassmasters. He spent his days maintaining cemeteries and running the family business. He was the caretaker of his fatherin- law and the grit of his family. Jason impacted many children and youth and loved to volunteer his time to others. Jason never missed a chance to raise animals and lend a hand. His favorite time was with family, laughing and listening to his favorite music.
Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Gail Fox.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Christine Fox of Thornton; three sons and their girlfriends, Jacob Fox and Taylor Chancellor of Waxahachie, Kaleb Fox and Gracie Harrison of Mexia, and Phillip LeJeune and Ashley Robles of Fairfield; his daughters, Zoie Fox of Thornton, Rubymaye Beckham and Katelynn Furstenberg and her boyfriend Cain Kofnevec of Thornton; and grandchildren, Orlando, Harleigh and Oaklynn. Also surviving are his father, Jerry Fox of Dallas; brothers, JD Fox of Dallas and Jarrod Fox of Corsicana; sister, Lacey Fox of Kosse; many nieces and nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ricky and Frances Dick; and also very dear to Jig were his longtime pets, Steve, Shaker, Marlee Don, Jimmy Dean, Quackers the duck and all his chickens.
