Ginger’s family was her inspiration in life. She loved being a mother, but was even happier when they made her a grandmother. She truly cherished her grands and great-grandbabies. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends.

Being a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary was very important to Ginger and a big part of her life for many years. She had a very loving, caring, giving heart and she never met a stranger. These were exemplified not only as a member of this organization, but throughout her life. Ginger also loved the outdoors and appreciated everything nature had to offer. Her hobbies consisted of fishing, painting, pottery, crocheting, and all types of arts and crafts. She had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke.

Ginger impacted many lives. She will be forever missed by her family and many friends.

She was preceded by her parents, Willie B. and Dorothy Slaughter; husband of 39 years, Ron Taylor; brother, Gene Slaughter and wife Nanette; sister, Bette Perry and husband Ron; daughter-inlaw, Laura Taylor; and stepfather, Harold B. Sheppard.

Ginger is survived by her children, William “Bill” Taylor and fiancé Laurye Allen, and Shara T. Hughes and husband Steven, all of Mexia; grandchildren, Morgan Flannery, Will Taylor, Ashley Boldra and husband Justin, and Steven Blake Hughes; great-grandchildren, Wesley McKeand, Penelope Benford, Grace and John Boldra and Avery Hughes; sister, Kathy Ellison; brothers, Robert Sheppard and wife Nedda; nephew, David Sheppard and wife Heather; nieces, Jennifer Sheppard, Gena Slaughter and husband Rick, and Bonita Doyle; nephews, Mike Perry, Timothy Perry, and John Perry; and sisterin- law, Velma Bowes and husband David.
