DAVID LEE MYERS
David Lee Myers passed away from heart issues in Richardson, on Jan. 12, 2021, at the age of 53. Memorial services were held on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia, with Jan Harrison officiating.
David was born July 14, 1967, in Dallas to Robert W. and Madeline Myers. He grew up in Mexia and graduated with honors from Mexia High School in 1985. He loved his family, reading, traveling, online gaming, watching sports, hot sauces and his cat, Chuck. He was a proud member of Mensa. David enjoyed summer travels with his son, brother Greg and nephew Jacob.
He took pride in his work and enjoyed mentoring others. His laughter, sense of humor, and smile will be greatly missed.
David is survived by his son Justin and daughter Alexandra; his father Robert W. Myers of Mexia, and mother Madeline Myers of Plano; brothers Greg Myers, of Plano, and Brad Phillips, of Mexia; uncle Richard Klein, of Plano; aunt Diana Klein, of Seminole, Fla.; and a number of nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents G.L. and Mary E. Myers and grandparents W. Scott Klein and Maude Klein.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be sent to the Gibbs Memorial Library of Mexia, where he began his love for reading.
