BRANDON SHEA FURLOW
Brandon Shea Furlow, 54, of Mexia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, in Mexia following a lengthy illness.
Brandon was born Dec. 14, 1969, in Corsicana to Norman and Sue James Furlow. Born with Down’s Syndrome, Brandon grew up with love and nurturing from his devoted family to become a well-adjusted, happy, and friendly Christian man. His grandmother, Irene, lived with the family for over 30 years and was instrumental in raising Brandon. They developed an inseparable bond.
Brandon loved being around family, church family, and coworkers, always remembering names with a smile. He became very close friends with Bobby Lide, as they would visit people together and have “good talks.” Brandon thoroughly enjoyed his job at Mc-Donald’s and at Cen-Tex in Mexia; he loved being around people and making new friends. He was a member of the Shiloh Church of Christ.
Brandon loved all things, Dallas Cowboys, especially Tony Romo, and remained loyal fan through thick and thin. He also loved his dog, and faithful companion, Copper, and took great pride in training him. Listening to music, playing video games, pool, and basketball with his nieces, nephews, and friends were among the many other things that made Brandon happy.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ollice and Irene James; and paternal grandparents, William Henry and Sarah Furlow.
Brandon is survived by his loving parents, Norman and Sue Furlow; sister, Robin Hawkins and husband, James, and their children, Heath Hawkins and wife, Jaque, and Chase Hawkins; sister, Missy Condon and husband, Clinton, and their children, Jennifer Farst and husband, J.D., and Jamie Smith and husband, Blake; and great nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn Malacara and husband, Miguel, Kole Hawkins, Landon Hawkins, Luke Smith, Jake Smith, Eva Smith, Ryker Farst, Harper Farst, and Lainie Farst.
Brandon’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to his special caregiver and friend, Glenda Anderson.
