BarBara June Hendrick
Barbara June Hendrick passed away Oct. 25, 2024, in Mexia at the age of 80.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Norcross officiating. Interment was in the Mexia Cemetery. Monty Montgomery, Steve Wiley, Jimmy Stafford Jr., Cameron Sandifer, Jimmy Penny, Larry Jobe and Jackie Ray Ottinger served as pallbearers.
Barbara was born March 12, 1944, in Prairie Hill to Lewis Albert and Margaret Evelyn Parten Stafford. She was married to Glenn Dean Dabney for only a few years prior to his death. Barbara later married Nolan Dennis “Jr.” Hendrick on Nov, 24, 1972, at Cedar Creek Lake. She retired after working 17 years in the Human Resource Department of the endrick Texas Youth Commission in Mart.
Barbara was a Christian woman, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Just like many mothers, her love for her children was strong but nothing could compare to the love for her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially during the holidays.
Barbara had a big heart and a forgiving heart. She treated everyone just as she wanted to be treated, with respect. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Margaret Stafford; husbands, Glenn Dabney and Nolan “Jr.” Hendrick; and son, Joseph Anthony Hendrick.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher Paul Hendrick and Randy Lynn Hendrick; grandchildren, Kyndal Esquivel and husband Hunter, and Haley Sandifer and husband Cameron; sister, Carolyn Wiley of Waco; brothers, Jimmy Stafford of Athens and Danny Stafford of Mart; and several nieces and nephews.
