GLORY DEAN SMITH
Glory Dean Smith was born to parents George Clark and AnnieBell Lewis on Aug. 28,1960.
Glory attended school in Coolidge until 1978. During that time, she gave birth to her oldest daughter, Kizzy Winn. Later, she married her lifelong friend, Alvin Ray Thomas Sr., and they welcomed Ramona Brown into the world, followed by Alvin Ray Thomas Jr.
In March of 2002, she was married to Gerald Smith, until his death in 2012.
Minister and Prophetess Glory Dean Smith served the Lord with all her heart, soul and strength. She was ordained and licensed into the ministry on May 29, 2005. She ministered under the leadership of Pastor Larrye and Eboni Weaver II until her death on Feb. 1, 2022.
Glory loved her family and friends full-heartedly. She always stated that her girls, baby boy and grandchildren meant the world to her.
Glory was preceded in death by her parents, George Clark and AnnieBell Lewis; sisters, Celestine “Weethie” Brown, Ethel Marie “Punkin” Hambrick; brother, George Clark Jr.; Husband, Gerald Smith; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Loving survivors include children, Kizzy Winn (Leslie), Ramona Brown, Alvin Ray Thomas Jr., Jessica Frazier; siblings, Robbie Clark, Joyce Williams and Rosemary Clark; step-mother, Fannie Clark; ex-husband and best friend, Alvin Ray Thomas Sr.; 19 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service and arrangements are entrusted to Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia. Service to be held on Feb 20 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mexia.
