KATHY DOLORES JOHNSON
Kathy Johnson, 71 of Mexia, passed away Feb. 6, 2022,at UTMB Hospital in League City. Funeral services will be held oat 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Jared Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Kathy was born June 9, 1950. in Freeport to Ernest and Jettie Ellis Wolf. She married Wesley Lynn Johnson on April 14, 1990, in Mexia. She had been in the community since 1967. Kathy was employed with H-E-B in Mexia for 16 years as a Scan coordinator. She was also employed by H&R Block in Mexia for 13 years before her retirement. She was a member of Covenant Life Fellowship Church.
Preceding Kathy in death were her parents and husband. Survivors include her daughter, Staci Lynn Johnson of Mexia; sons, Terry Lee Johnson of Huntsville and Michael Edward Tubbs of Groesbeck; grandson, Seth Mitchell Wimberly of San Antonio; granddaughters, Zoey Lynn Alford of Mexia and Haley Nicole Foley of Mexia; sisters-in-law, Helen Shields of Limestone County, Judy Crundwell of Lake Mexia and Lou Pipes of Garland; and brother-in-law, Steve Johnson of Lake Mexia.
Serving as pallbearers are Wil Floyd, John Leago, Clay Wimberly, Joey Alford, Dean McCoslin and Marty Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Tweedle and Jerry Shields.
