JAMES FORGE JR.
James Forge Jr., affectionately known as “Pete Forge,” “Mr. Pete” and “Daddy Pete,” was born April 17, 1936, to James “Buck” Forge and Pearlie Mae Palmer Forge in Limestone County. He was the oldest of five children.
Funeral service will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 22, at Dorsey-Keatts Funeral Home.
Forge spent many years in various jobs and career fields with the last being road construction.
He was best known for his wit, charm, being a deacon and years of traveling and singing with the Sunlight Gospel Singers.
Forge was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Arthur “Bay Brother” Forge, Sammie Lee Forge, Edward “DeeDee” Forge and Shirley Forge Miller. He was also preceded in death by two sons, James “Poncho” Forge III and Walter Ray Forge.
He is survived by three daughters, Mildred (Sam) Daniel, Susie (Eric) Murray and Shamekia Forge; four sons, Kenneth Forge, Lorenzo Forge, Jason Forge and Trae Thompson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
