MIKE KIRSCH
Mike Kirsch was born Sept. 9, 1942, in Houston to William Kirsch and Geraldine Morris. He was the second of three children. Mike graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1962. In 1966 he went on to serve our country as a Private First Class in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1970. Mike was a member of Dew United Methodist Church for nearly 15 years.
Anyone who knew Mike knows he was an honorable man and a man of his word. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren and was a good friend to all who knew him and a stranger to none. He often referred to himself as “The Kid” or “Ol’ Cool Breeze.” Ornery and opinionated are just a couple of words we would use to describe him. He had a witty sense of humor, a charming personality and a stubborn streak a mile long.
In his “spare” time, he loved showing his ’55 Bellaire in the local car shows. He enjoyed fishing in his back ponds and watching his new calves.
Everyone will remember his beautiful blue eyes, unwavering charm, his amazing cowboy hat, starched blue jeans, classy boots and he ALWAYS had a toothpick in his mouth … even when he napped in his rocking chair.
He is survived by his siblings, Bill Kirsch and Lyndie Pokorny; daughter, Kristie Lynn Kirsch; son, Troy; his daughters by heart, Stephanie Tucker and Jennifer Tucker LaCompte; grandchildren, Sam Kirsch, Kirby Tucker, Amanda King and Alicia Droddy; and great-granddaughter, Lennox Tucker; and many other family members.
In honor of Mike Kirsch, donations can be sent to a charity that was near and dear to his heart, New Hope Women’s Center.
Per Mike’s wishes, he will be cremated and buried under his favorite tree on his farm. To share memories and leave condolences to Mike’s family, go to www.corleyfuneralhome.com
