JANA LUMMUS
Jana Kay Lummus, of Mexia, passed away Aug. 17, 2021, in Temple, at the age of 58. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Rabine officiating.
Jana was born April 11, 1963, in Dallas, to George Jackson and Gladys Grace (Fisher) Liles. She grew up in Mexia, graduated from Mexia High School, Class of 1981 and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Sam Houston State University. Jana taught school in Groesbeck, Corsicana and Coolidge for an accumulated total of 20-plus years. This was an ideal career for her, as she loved kids and spending time with them.
Jana loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was like most grandmothers, she cherished her grandchildren, and keeping them was the highlight of her life. Jana loved keeping kids, in general; that was probably her favorite hobby. She was also very creative when it came to arts and crafts. Jana enjoyed making decorations for her classrooms, Christmas ornaments and flower arrangements. When her daughter, Kendal, got married, Jana made all the decorations for her wedding.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Perri Liles Ingram and other relatives.
Jana is survived by her parents, George and Gladys Liles; wife Michelle Lummus; son Matthew Paschal and wife, Jessica; daughters Kendal Rabine and husband Scott, Kasey Price and Crystal Price; grandchildren Saxton Rabine and Eli Price; sister Dusty Bishop; sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws, Terri and Barry Reed and Nicole and Randy Lummus; and several nieces and nephews.
