GLINDA HOLD
Glinda Hold passed away peacefully and gracefully early Monday, Dec. 28, 2020. She was 79.
A service to honor and cherish her life is to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at First United Methodist Church in Wortham, followed by burial in the Wortham Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Lee, Kameron Hogan, Kaleb Hook, Konner Hook, Heath McCoslin and Kristian McCoslin.
The family request that those attending the service wear maroon or Aggie attire to honor Glinda and Leonard’s love of Texas A&M University and the AGGIES.
Glinda Sue Lee Hold was born Feb. 10, 1941, in Gladewater, to Luster Labritton and Wretha Adell (Vest) Lee, the second of three children. The family moved to Richland and then Wortham, where she attended school before entering Navarro College.
In 1959, Glinda married Leonard Raymond Hold, and together they raised their daughter, Kelly, and son, Kyle. Glinda and Leonard spent many wonderful years in College Station. While Leonard attended Texas A&M University, Glinda worked at a local dry cleaner. She cleaned … and gleaned, watching the parking lot where the AGGIE band practiced and paraded back and forth. Oh, how she and Leonard loved the Aggies and the Band! Glinda soon went to work in a research lab at A&M, which led her toward a medical career as a Licensed Medical Technologist. Their careers carried her to hospitals across the state and finally, to the Mexia State School, from where she eventually retired.
