STACY BRIAN CROWDER

It is with sadness and light that the family of Stacy Brian Crowder – husband, father, son, brother, friend – shares that he passed away peacefully in his home on July 4, 2020, in Dallas, after courageously ending his four-year battle with ALS.

Stacy Brian Crowder will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched. Stacy was loving, inspired, a believer, caring, intelligent, a hard worker, loyal, fun, honest, genuine, selfless, joyous and intelligent. Stacy would always greet you with a smile that would light up his eyes and make you feel better for seeing him. Stacy had an infectious laugh that he was never afraid to share with you. Stacy always took time to offer a hand with a project and could tackle anything. Stacy would lend his ear when anyone needed it – he was a wonderful listener and could give guidance or set you straight.

Stacy Brian Crowder was born in Santa Anna to George and Patricia (Caldwell) Crowder on Nov. 25, 1972. Stacy grew up with his three brothers (Christopher, Damon and Corey) in Mexia. Stacy went from Mexia to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, where he graduated in 1997 with a degree in Construction Science. Upon graduation Stacy moved to Dallas-Fort Worth to begin his career in construction management. In Dallas, Stacy met Holly (Kesling), who would be his wife for 19 years. Stacy and Holly moved to Colorado, where they were married in Littleton, on June 16, 2001. Stacy and Holly came back Texas in 2009 to raise their family closer to family. Stacy worked at UT Southwestern Medical Center, managing construction projects until 2017. Stacy never rested and challenged himself to be better. While working, he went back to school and received his MBA from University of Dallas in 2013.

Stacy was involved in all things for his girls – from singing at choir practice to toting them around to sporting activities and leading their Adventure Princess trips with their friends. Stacy served on the Board of Grace Academy of Dallas. And while fighting his battle with ALS, Stacy advocated for research and funding to help find the cure and fight the battle for all with ALS.

Stacy is preceded in death by his Grandad (Ben Caldwell), his Mimi (Mayme Lee Crowder), his Daddy ‘Mo (Elmo Crowder), his Aunt (Gwen McKay), his Uncle Ter (Terry Caldwell), his Uncle Jim Crowder, and his cousin Jamie McKay.

Stacy is survived by his wife Holly (Kesling) Crowder; his daughters Reese (12) and Merritt (8) Crowder; his brothers Christopher (Jo), Damon (April) and Corey (Sue) Crowder; his father, George (Neva) Crowder; his mother Patricia (Caldwell) Crowder; his sisters-in-law Candice (Tim) Hopkins and Bobbi (Glenn) McQuown; his nephews Cameron Crowder and Dylan Hopkins; his nieces Caitlin, Delaney, Emily, Sadie and Josie Crowder and Adelaide Hopkins; his grandmother Helen Wilson Caldwell; his Aunt Ava Marie Batiste and Aunt Jane (William) Robinson. Stacy will forever be remembered by his many cousins, extended family and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life Gathering was held on Wednesday, July 15, at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Thank you to those were able to join us to honor Stacy and his bird dog Addie “Magoo,” who joined Stacy on Sunday, July 12. We thank those who loved him and loved spending time with him who honored him with stories and laughter in remembrance of an amazing, loving man and his dog.
