Glenda was born Oct. 22, 1956, in Mexico, Mo., to Frank and Marie Love McCully. She grew up in Mexico, Mo., and graduated from North Calloway High School. On April 1, 1976, Glenda married her lifelong partner, Grover L. “Sonny” Lane, in Las Vegas, Nev.; they were blessed with two sons, Shaun and Bobby. She was forced to retire from Walmart, due to health reasons, after 19 years of service.
Glenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, was the highlight of her life. She recently taught her three grandchildren how to make “Dream Catchers.” She collected Barbie dolls, in addition to many other things, and enjoyed doing art and crafts occasionally. Glenda also loved her pets, Cookie, Dixie, Zach, Rusty and Dino, who were not the usual dogs and/or cats; she was open to making most any animal, reptile or whatever her pet. She had a friendly, outgoing personality and always found pleasure in the simple things in life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank McCully.
Glenda is survived by her mother, Marie McCully; her loving husband of almost 44 years, Grover “Sonny” Lane, of Shiloh; sons Shaun Lane and Bobby Lane; loved as a daughter, Christy Self; grandchildren Braden, Cameron and Kylie Lane; sisters Pam Board, Lori McCully and Patti McCully Carey; brothers Frank McCully Jr. and Jeffrey McCully; sisterin-law Carolyn Lewis; a number of nieces and nephews; and her pets, Cookie, Dixie, Zach, Rusty and Dino.
