Danny Ray Richardson

Danny Ray Richardson, 57, of Teague, passed away on Jan. 25, 2019, at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at First United Methodist Church of Teague, with the Rev. Richard Gillette and Michael Jones officiating. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery in Fairfield. Family visitation was held on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Services in Mexia.

Mr. Richardson was born on Feb. 9, 1962, in Houston, to Leonard Charles and Mary Marie Fails Richardson. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Hanson Aggregate, where he celebrated his 30th anniversary with the company in October of last year. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing; he enjoyed his race car and his motorcycle. He enjoyed visiting with his family and was a very good provider to them, and good husband to Dawn, whom he had been with for 37 years, and married 31 of those years. He especially loved his granddaughter, Trinity, who was his sunrise and sunset.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Doyle Cameron and Charles Cameron, as well as his infant son, Leonard Charles Richardson II.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn Richardson, of Teague; daughter Kasi Richardson Erwin and husband James, of Teague; daughter Ketrina Smith; granddaughter Trinity Erwin, of Teague; sisters Ann Wilson, of Teague, Carol Lewis, of Georgia, and Connie Pyle; nieces Debbie Hayes, Cathy Grissam and husband Robert, Robbye Wright and husband Dan, and Tina Haynes and husband Jay; nephew Bobby Wilson Jr. and wife Sanya; close family friends Ricky Cannon and Glynn Crossley; as well as numerous great nieces, nephews and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers were Howard Pope Jr., Luke Cannon, Floyd Chavers, Curtis Stubbs, Dylan Langley and Dan Wright. Honorary pallbearers were Troy Darby and Glynn Crossley.
