Jacob Levi Thompson
Jacob Levi Thompson, 57, of Mexia, passed away on Aug. 9, 2018, at Providence Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at 3 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mexia with James Murphy and Eddie Acord officiating. Interment will follow at Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the church on Sunday, from 2-3p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Fleming, Jonathan Fleming, Bryan Cotton, Jimmy Winstead, Don Michael and Kent Kendall. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Lummus and Tyler Nix.
Jacob was born on Feb. 25, 1961, in Killeen to Jake R. and Choon Ja (Ruth) Thompson. He was a measurement technician in the oil and gas industry. He loved life and never met a stranger. Jacob enjoyed riding his motorcycle and participating in Toys for Tots and other activities. He loved his family and all of their get-togethers. His daughter, Brooke, was his pride and joy and he loved and was so proud of his grandson, Maverick Levi.
Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Choon (Ruth) Thompson. Survivors include his daughter, Brooke Campbell and husband, Michael of Teague; grandson, Maverick Levi Campbell of Teague; sisters, Kim Thompson and husband Jurgen of Mexia, Judy Fleming and husband Bob of Rowlett, Dollie Goren and husband Abe of Houston, Mary Jane Cotton and Paul Barger of Mexia, and Kris Lindsey of Mexia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
