Harvey C. Lane Sr.

Funeral services for Harvey C. Lane Sr., 84, will be held Wednesday, July 25, at a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Brother Jeff Wright will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Dew Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Tuesday with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lane passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Providence Hospital in Waco.

Harvey was born on August 23, 1933, in Dew. He served in the United States Army. After the army he worked as a pipeline welder most all of his life. Harvey took care of his family and was a great father to his children.

He was a hard worker, loved gardening and hunting.

He is survived by four sons, Harvey C. Lane Jr. and wife Latresa of Mexia, William (Bill) Lane and wife Shirley of Prairie Hill, Freddie Lane and wife Melinda of Dew, and Mike Lane and wife Tracye of Cross Roads; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one nephew, Joey Lane and wife Beverly of Wills Point; one “sister,” ElBessie (Dear) Henderson; one “brother,” Roger Pap Tatum; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Tami Reed McKamie and husband Bryant; other relatives and friends, including the Vernon Levels family; and special friend Jerry Watkins of Corsicana.

Lane was preceded in death by his wife, Noreeta Lane; sister and brotherin-law, Wanda and PeeWee Reed; and “brother” Lonnie Tatum.
